There’s a rumour, originating from a Polish website, that the system specs for Need for Speed: Shift PC version have been leaked. They are detailed as:
Need for Speed: Shift: Minimum system specifications
- CPU : Pentium 4 3.2 GHz (3.4 GHz with Vista)
- RAM: 1 GiByte (2 GiByte under Vista)
- Graphics card with 256 MiByte VRAM and shader model 3
- HDD: 10 GByte
Need for Speed: Shift: Recommended system specifications
- CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo 2.5 GHz or AMD Athlon 64 X2 2 GHz
- RAM: 2 GiByte (3 GiByte under Vista)
- Graphics card with 512 MiByte VRAM and shader model 3
- HDD: 10 GByte
That’s some pretty hefty system specifications if they are accurate, especially the recommended ones. While I’ve got a PC from a while ago that matches those, you are talking, when you look at the Vista recommendations of 3Gb + 512Mb graphics RAM, of a recommended amount of RAM very close to the technical limit of RAM available under 32-bit operating systems that most people have.
Verdict: Possible, but looks damn high.
